About
Flavien Demarigny, known as Mambo, is a Chilean artist born in 1969. A self-taught artist, he has lived between Buenos Aires, Paris, and Los Angeles, and now resides in Provence. Since the 1980s, he has developed a unique practice at the crossroads of modern art, minimalism, and graffiti.
His work explores a wide range of styles, from spontaneous and semi-abstract gestures to action painting and minimalist, imaginary landscapes. He constructs an expressive graphic universe made of ideograms and symbols, where humanity remains at the center.
Through an intuitive approach blending observation, ambiguity, and humor, he translates emotions, memories, and mental processes into visual language. His works compose a true “pictorial prose,” poised between instinct and mastery.
Mambo has exhibited internationally (Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, São Paulo…) and collaborated with many major institutions and brands, including the Louvre, the Centre Pompidou, Prada and Agnès b.
